Dancing Around the Problem
Dancing around the problem.
Not addressing the elephant in the room.
Dodging the question at hand.
Why do we do it?
We don’t want to
Deal with it.
We can
Regret it.
Neglect it,
But we have to solve it.
Disinvolve it.
Revolving around it
Dancing around it
like you’re in a ballroom
And dancers circle you.
Who will save you
from the abyss it created?
You worked so hard
to get where you are,
But now this problem
Is in the back
Of your mind.
Undermining you.
“You have to get through it,”
Your friends say.
“It’ll be okay,”
But you feel like it won’t
You can’t do this to yourself, you don’t
Let it control you
You can’t ignore it and bite off more than you can chew.
In the end,
You have to listen to your friends
And it will all be okay.
You will get through it.
