Note: This is a continuation of Intergalactic, but it’s called “Galactic”. What will Aster do now that his partner “died”?

Part I: Aster

Aster walked into headquarters.

“Aster! I’ve been trying to call you. I heard Devra was lost in the field.” Mr. Majester bowed his head in condolence.

“Yes.”

“Do you have her–parts?”

“Yes.” Aster handed Mr. Majester his backpack. “I gotta go.”

“Wait, while I scientists try to put Devra back together, I will find you a new partner.”

“I don’t need a new partner.”

“Too bad, you’re getting one. You can’t go out on the field alone, you’re still new to the Galacticons.”

“I’ve been Galacticon for two years.”

“I know, but you still have a lot to learn.”

“Fine.”

“Until I find you a new partner, go home and recuperate. You’ve earned it.”

“I will.”

Part II: New Partner

A few weeks later, Aster’s Vex (a newer version of the Vax watch) rang on his bedside table. He thought it was his alarm and set it to snooze.

Ten minutes later, the sound of a new voicemail emitted from Aster’s Vex. He checked his watch and listened to the message. “Aster, I found you a new partner. Meet me on the moon base to meet her.”

Her? Maybe she could be cute. No, she’s my new partner and I will treat her as such, Aster thought.

He flew their old ship up to the moon and landed.

He walked into the moon base.

“Aster, you look–well,” Mr. Majester said. “I’d like to introduce you to your new partner-”

“Sabina.” She held out her hand for a handshake and Aster hesitated for a minute, but gave in.

“Thank you. Now, your first mission as a team is to protect the Crown of Power in the Magic City Museum.”

“Protect it from who?” Sabina asked.

“From thieves who try to take it.”

“What does the crown do?” Aster asked.

“It gives the wearer the powers of the five magics, magic, evil magic, anti-magic, anti-evil magic or purity magic, and super evil magic and if they are a wizard of any kind, it will amplify their powers.”

“What are the powers of the five magics?” Aster asked.

“No more questions! Go protect that crown with your life!”

Aster and Sabina walked out of the base.

“We can take our-I mean, my ship.”

“No need.” Sabina created a bubble around them and teleported to Magic World.

They ended up in the middle of Magic City.

“How did you do that?” Aster asked in astonishment.

“I’m from here. I’m a wizard,” Sabina replied.

“Can you teleport us into the museum?”

“Of course.”

Sabina teleported them into the oddities of power exhibit in the back of the museum.

“You’re amazing!” Aster shouted.

Sabina shushed him.

The guard walked by. “Oh, you must be the Galacticons they sent to guard the crown.”

“Yes, that’s us.”

“Good.” The guard walked away.

“Wait, you’re not going to help us?” Sabina asked.

“No, my shift is over. It’s all yours.”

The guard threw the keys behind him and Sabina teleported them into her hand.

“We’re stuck here all night?”

“Yup, good luck.”

Aster and Sabina stood in front of the crown and guarded it for a few hours until an alarm went off.

“You stay here and protect the crown, while I’ll catch the criminal,” Aster advised her.

“But-”

Aster rushed to the entrance. The intruder had triggered the lasers. “Stop right there, you-”

The intruder used a hand mirror to reflect the laser and pass through the hallway.

“Stop in the name of galactic law!”

The intruder just laughed and ran through the halls of the exhibits. Aster followed them and blasted them with his freeze ray. But the intruder reflected his shot and froze and glass case.

Sabina pulled out her whip from her V.0 and threw it at the intruder. It wrapped around them.

“Great job, partner. Now, who are you and why do you want to steal the Crown of Power?” Aster asked.

“I’m a rebel from Evil World or anarchy planet as I call it.”

“And what do you want with the crown?”

“Like I would tell you freaks.”

The rebel broke free of the whip and ran past them.

Sabina teleported the crown into her hands.

“What are you doing? Put it back!” Aster shouted at Sabina.

Sabina put it atop her head and her purple-colored eyes glowed and grew darker. She opened a portal and kicked the rebel into it. The portal closed.

“Where did you send him?” Aster asked Sabina as she took

“I have no idea, but he’s gone. We should probably keep the crown somewhere safer.”

“Right, I was thinking of leaving in the storage facility on Ceres.”

“Good idea.”

They watched the museum until it re-opened the next morning.

They agreed to take watching shifts so they could nap, but they were both asleep by the time the sun came up.

Sabina gave the extra keys to the day guard. Sabina teleported Aster back home and she walked back to her apartment building. She lived in Magic City.
