“Attention all units! There’s an intruder on the ninth floor! Repeat, all units to the ninth floor!” Commander Conroy’s voice emitted from Devra’s badge.

That must be where the essences are.

Devra rushed to the elevator. Other Galacticons majesters ran past her.

“I mean, the fourth floor,” Conroy’s voice spoke once more.

“Second floor, sorry,” Conroy’s voice spoke again.

This intruder must be a teleporter if they’re moving from floor to floor so quickly.

“And he’s gone. All units out for patrol. I want this intruder found, even if you have to search the entire galaxy.”

He must have stolen the tubes of essences!

Devra started her ship and used its trackers to search for the teleporter.

Suddenly, Devra and her ship were teleported.

The teleporter snuck up on Devra from behind her chair.

“What? Where did you come from? Where am I?” Devra asked the man.

“Welcome to my universe! I’m the Teleporter.”

“Why did you bring me here?”

“I wanted to show you my planet, Portilia, or the portal planet and you’re the only one who knows how to use these essences I’ve heard so much about.” The Teleporter switched his backpack strap to the other shoulder.

“And I guess you have the tubes of essences in your backpack?”

“You are correct.”

With her magnetron ray, Devra magnetized the wall behind them The Teleporter’s belt pulled him to the wall. She snatched the backpack away from him.

The Teleporter removed the belt and held up his pants. He transported to the spot where Devra stood and teleported her onto the planet.

Devra darted her eyes around at the city and its citizens. The city was similar to Magic City, but there were no flying cars. Every citizen was teleporting.

“Welcome to Portalopolis!” the Teleporter shouted.

The citizens jeered and glared at the Teleporter. “It’s him! The thief! Police!”

Police officers teleported around him. They handcuffed him, but he teleported out of the handcuffs. He took Devra and teleported her back to his apartment.

“What do you want with me? It’s not hard to use–” Devra said. I can’t tell him how to use the essences. Mr. Majester was right. They should have put them in a more secure place.

“Go on,” the Teleporter replied with intrigue.

“No, I’m not playing your games. Just take me back to my universe and I won’t arrest you for kidnapping me.”

“Oh, you will play along or I’ll-” the Teleporter transported behind Devra and took back the backpack.

“You’re tricky aren’t you? Do you even know what they do?”

“I’ve heard rumors. They give the user unlimited power or they take people’s powers for a short time, right?”

“I’m not telling you.”

“I tried.”

The teleporter translocated Devra to his apartment building’s basement or his lab.

“I’ve been reading about you. You’re a whizz with technology, right?”

“Yes, but it doesn’t matter. Whatever you need me to do, I’m not doing it.”

“Oh, you are or-”

The Teleporter tripped on some wires and the backpack fell off his shoulder. He slipped on one of the tubes that fell out. The tube cracked and was released from its containment.

They fought over who would capture it. Devra used her tractor-beam ray to throw the Teleporter at the wall. She zapped the essence orb and let her body absorb it. While the Teleporter was still recovering on the floor, Devra blasted him with her hand. An orb of green pulled toward her.

She used her new and temporary teleporting skills to transport the Teleporter to the nearest jail. She grabbed the last few remaining tubes of essences and returned to her own universe.

“At last, I have the essences! Now I can save the universe, for a short time, at least,” Devra said to herself in her apartment on Earth.
