Intergalactic: Part Six
Devra was told by Mr. Majester to go to Planet X on the outskirts of the solar system. There was a body switcher there disrupting their communication hub.
Aster was late to the debriefing, so he followed Devra in another ship.
Devra landed the ship on Planet X and sirens went off in the communication facility.
Aster stepped off his ship and followed Devra into the facility.
Devra had to find the body switcher, but they could be anyone. She ran through the hallway and saw the only guard who stood in front of a locked door. It was odd that he was standing there since all the other guards were trying to find the intruder. He used his badge to get into the room he was guarding and Devra followed.
The door closed before Aster could get in. He tried to use his badge to re-open it, but it still didn’t open. He pulled out an archaic ray gun from his backpack. The gun had a handle that he spun around similar to holding one of the bars of a merry-go-round and spinning it around, but small and on the side of the gun. He blasted a hole in the door and jumped through.
“The intruder!” three guards shouted after they heard the sound of searing metal. “He’s in here!”
They followed Aster through the hole in the door.
“No, I’m a Galacticon, too! I’m Aster, here with Devra!”
“Yeah, right! That’s what the body switcher would say!” one of the following guards replied.
Aster showed them his badge.
They still didn’t believe him.
Devra followed the guard until he ran into another guard.
“Have you found the intruder?” the other guard asked.
“No, not yet,” the first guard replied and touched his shoulder. He clasped it.
The other guard’s eyes rolled back and he collapsed. His eyes turned dark blue and the Galacticon emblem on his jacket changed into a grey cloud with a lightning bolt. The body switcher used the guard’s clearance to enter the other locked door.
“At last, it’s mine. The-”
Devra lifted her hand and blasted the body switcher. He fell back and a dark blue orb returned to her. Her body absorbed it and she blasted him with her slow down ray, but she missed. She switched bodies with a nearby guard and she picked up her slow ray. She shot it again and got him. She used her net gun and captured him.
Devra switched back into her own body. “He’s all yours, boys. The garnet of power is safe.” She grabbed the garnet from the body switcher’s clutches and returned it to its rightful place in the facility.
Aster maneuvered around the guards and said, “Devra, we need to talk.”
Devra and Aster walked outside and into Aster’s ship.
“Did you steal the essences? They’ve been missing from the moon base for a few days,” Aster probed Devra.
She looked left and then right.
“You did, didn’t you? That’s how you took the body switcher’s powers.”
“I’ve got to get back to my ship. The mission’s over.”
“I’ll get this out of you, Devra. Mark my words and if it’s the last thing I do.”
